Research experiences provide valuable experience for students, and a number of upper level courses involve students pursuing independent research projects. In addition, many faculty have projects that they would be happy to work on with students. Please let Dr. Marland know if you are interested in being involved in research.
Recent Student Projects
- Senior Honors Thesis: All honors students complete a senior thesis, which can lead to graduating with department honors or university honors or both.
- Graduate Research Projects: All graduate students complete a research project on a topic related to mathematics, statistics and/or teaching.
Opportunities
- App State Undergraduate Research Assistants: Faculty have the opportunity to apply for funding to support undergraduates on projects.
- Summer Research Experiences: Many universities across the US receive funding from the REU Program at the National Science Foundations to host residential summer programs for students interested in learning about and doing research.
