About Sarah Payne
Mrs. Payne is from Hickory, North Carolina. After attaining her M.S. at WCU, she moved to coastal South Carolina to teach at Coastal Carolina University. While there, I met and married my now husband, Adam Payne. In 2016 we moved back to Hickory to be closer to our families, and have since added two kids, Knox and Eva. She taught at Western Piedmont Community College for seven years and was hired to teach for ASU in 2023.
Mrs. Payne's passion is teaching mathematics. She sees math as a way to learn how to think critically and solve problems. She teaches in a way to help others understand math and not be afraid of it. When she is not teaching, you can find her with her family enjoying time outside, especially playing on the lake, hiking, camping, and exploring.
