About Samuel Powell

After finishing his Bachelor's degree in 2009, Samuel spent a decade tutoring and teaching students across several disciplines of math and physics advocating for student excellence and inclusion. He returned to pursue a Master's degree in mathematics and has joined Appalachian State to continue teaching and servicing the mathematics community. Samuel enjoys real and functional analysis, the history of mathematics, and the connections between mathematics and music. Outside of mathematics he studies political philosophy, media literacy, and enjoys playing guitar and cooking.
