About Dr. Gosky
Dr. Gosky joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Appalachian State University in 2006, and served as the program director for the MA Mathematics program from 2013-2021. His research interests involve population size estimation, Bayesian Statistics, Sports Analytics, and interdisciplinary work through the Center for Analytics Research and Education, specifically with the GEAR UP federally funded college access project in Western North Carolina. After serving as Interim Associate Dean in the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies, he was appointed Associate Dean in 2024. He and his wife Becky have two sons as well as two dogs.
