About Holly Hirst
Holly Hirst has been teaching mathematics for over 30 years, and is especially interested in sharing her love of all things math and computing with anyone who will listen. She served in several administrative positions during her time at Appalachian, including Acting Assistant Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences, Director of the University Reaffirmation of Accreditation Self-Study, and Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. She is thrilled to be back in the mathematics classroom! She is married to Dr. Jeff Hirst, also a professor of mathematics at Appalachian. They both love mathematics, cooking, music, science fiction, traveling (especially to St. John USVI) and living in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. They share their home with three furry children: June, Remi, and Henry.
