Abstract: In this talk, findings of a nationwide survey regarding the varying ways in which preservice secondary teachers (PSTs) are being prepared to teach mathematics with technology will be presented. Then, we will discuss one response to the survey findings – a research and development project in which video cases are utilized to support PSTs development of the specialized knowledge needed to teach mathematics with technology. Colloquia participants will have the opportunity to explore some of the video cases and results from a study on PSTs professional noticing of student thinking in a technology-mediated environment will be shared.
