Women in Mathematics - Report on My OCSA

Abstract: Founded 50 years ago, during a surge of feminist and civil rights activities, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is the oldest such organization in the world, so 2021 has been an opportune time to focus on women in mathematics. I will report on results and accomplishments of an Off-Campus Scholarly Assignment (OCSA), including a Springer volume. In this context, we'll look at research into how and why AWM was formed and learn about why it's still vital in today's culture and in the lives and work of girls and women.

To join via zoom, please contact one of the colloquium coordinators (Kristen Rowland and Nadun Dissanayake) for zoom information.
