Role in the Department

In the role of Distinguished Professor, I administrate the Mathematics Education Leadership Training program (MELT) at Appalachian State University. This program provides professional development, through CEUs or graduate credits, to K-12 mathematics teachers. This professional development includes novel investigations into mathematical content, pedagogy, and epistemology associated with K-12 mathematics as well as addressing the needs of teacher leaders. As a professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, I am continually involved in teaching and scholarship in the field.
